Fiddler/composer Oliver Schroer and Nuala met while on a teaching residency for the Coast String Fiddlers near Vancouver. They discovered they had a lot in common from both an educational and a
musical perspective. When Nuala was commissioned by the Celtic Connections International Music Festival in Glasgow 2007 to produce a show of her own work, she invited Oliver to be part of it.

During the time they worked on the show, each was inspired by the other and they found that they wanted to develop their duo music further. Both musicians write very distinctive and characterful melodies. It seemed appropriate to begin to work on an album which would bring these complimentary compositions together.

The music is original and evocative and the album is at about the half-way mark now. It will also feature guest musicians from both sides of the Atlantic.
