Hot Press Ireland Review
Sarah McQuaid (3rd May 2007)

Singer and flute/whistle player Nuala Kennedy was born in Dundalk, Co. Louth, but she's been living in Scotland. There's certainly a Scottish influence in her clear voiced-singing style; I'd have sworn that both Cait I nGarrain a Bhile and 'A Bhean Ud Thios' were Scottish songs if the lyrics hadn't been in Irish.

The latter features gorgeous piano accompaniment from Mhairi Hall, as do several other tracks – notably the opening set of tunes (two of them Kennedy originals, and very nifty ones too).
Among the other guests are accordion player Julian Sutton, Claire Mann on flute, fidde, whistle and backing vocals, guitarist Marc Clement, trumpeter Daniel Lapp, and Cathal McConnell, of Boys of the Lough fame, who duets with Kennedy on 'Erin on the Rhine'. The musicianship throughout is superb, making this a most impressive debut.
