Eamon O'Leary - Guitar, Bouzouki, Vocals

Eamon O'Leary

Eamon O' Leary plays bouzouki, guitar and sings backing vocals on 'Behave the Bravest'. Eamon and Nuala have toured east to west from Newfoundland to the Yukon, Alaska to NYC, from Hawaii to Drogheda Hey! in duo and also with their friend John Doyle as part of The Alt. So, to those of you who know them, it's probably no big surprise that Eamon, or Old Clump as he is affectionately known, makes an appearance here. Who else can speak a hybrid of Irish/French/English, snag a few mackerel for dinner and sing along to all the verses of 'Where Do You Go To My Lovely'?

Eamon is a long-time favorite accompanist for Irish music, well known throughout the States for his tasteful backing for everyone from the great Irish singer Susan McKeown to fav fiddlers Patrick Ourceau and Kevin Burke. He also sings in the Murphy Beds with the talented Mister Jefferson Hamer and writes his own songs. 2016 will see the release of his second solo record which sounds fantastic. You can find his music here: www.eamonoleary.com

Mathias Kunzli - Percussion

Mathias Kunzli

Mathias Kunzli plays drums/percussion. Mathias is a fantastic musician having collaborated with the likes of Yo-Yo Ma, Lauryn Hill and Regina Spektor no less. Kunzli has appeared in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls and festivals including Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Sidney Opera House, Avery Fisher Hall, Montreal Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, and Konzerthaus Copenhagen.

Nuala and Mathias met in NYC a few years ago and bonded over some raucous music sessions at his home. There they tore into the jigs and reels with more enthusiasm than you could shake a stick at. Mathias is originally from Switzerland and is a passionate explorer of the great outdoors. Mountain goat stylee! He has his own solo record, called Playground, an appropriate title for a musician who plays in the best joyful and exploratory kind of way.

Johnny Connolly - Button Accordion

Johnny Connolly

Johnny B. Connolly plays button accordion. Johnny is affectionately known as Johnny Box or Johnny Bosca (the Irish word for box). Johnny and Nuala first met in days of yore at sessions in NYC and hit it off. Johnny is just great company. He grew up playing traditional music in Dublin, and is now based in Portland, Oregon.

Johnny is a wonderful musician, with a natural rich and flowing sound and is a great accompanist for songs, as well as a rocking tune player. Johnny is a soloist himself and has a gorgeous solo record called Bridgetown featuring a superlative selection of tunes as well as his buddy Kevin Burke. It was released to universally glowing reviews. "A joy from beginning to end…Connolly’s playing is skillful and exciting," wrote All Music Guide. Johnny is a classy guy with a deep appreciation of the arts and is highly in demand having spent a good part of the last few years touring with Solas amongst others.
